Maxime Lê is a distinguished professional with an impressive career trajectory centered around health communication and public policy. With a master’s degree in communication, specializing in science, society, and public policy from the University of Ottawa, Maxime has dedicated his career to bridging health and communication. His thesis, which developed a typology of Canadian anti-vaccination arguments, remains a valuable resource for public health and communication researchers in combating misinformation.
Maxime’s career began with an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences, also from the University of Ottawa. His passion for health and healthcare is evident in his diverse roles, where he integrates communication, public relations, health policy, and public health. His expertise spans public relations, project management, workshop development, and health promotion, making him a versatile professional in his field.
Currently, Maxime serves as a Public Health Project Officer at Ottawa Public Health. In this role, he has produced and consulted on both French and English communications for some of North America’s most followed public health social media accounts. His work includes crafting emergency response messages, creating engaging social media content, and developing COVID-19 vaccination information. Maxime has also trained over 200 public health nurses and frontline staff in vaccine communication principles, showcasing his dedication to public health education.
Beyond his professional commitments, Maxime is actively involved in his community. He serves on several expert committees, including the Patient Advisor’s Network (PAN) Board of Directors and The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI). As a patient advisor to The Ottawa Hospital, he communicates patient interests and advises on communications and policies. His involvement extends to representing patients at international conferences and developing community engagement plans with researchers.
Previously, Maxime worked as a Policy Analyst at the Public Health Agency of Canada, where he provided policy guidance on youth-related issues and contributed to Canada’s COVID-19 response strategy for children and youth.
